The dunes in the Hengchun Peninsula rank as the largest in Taiwan. They are very well maintained. With the exception of Fongchueisha, Gangzih Dune on the east side is the most complete.
The dunes are formed by the sturdy blowing of the northeast trade winds. The sands of Gangzih Dune are finely proportioned and the curves are beautifully formed
