Uca coarctata

招潮蟹
【Uca coarctata】

Physical Features: The tips of compressed fiddler crabs’ legs and dark-red claws are in a beautiful, semi-transparent cream color. The male’s backs are of contrasting milky and brown. The females’ are bright yellow and red.

Living Habits: Compressed fiddler crabs are very shy. They can be found under mangrove trees and on riverside muddy slopes. These crabs are strongly regional and are therefore usually difficult to find. Yet they are quite common around the Dapeng Bay.
