Luminous Cloud Isles and the Starman,” an installation art in Qingzhou Village, Dapeng Bay, has brought home international honor once again! A winner of the Platinum Award—the most prestigious award—at the London Design Awards in June this year, the installation art has now received the Platinum Award (category: Landscape Design - Sculpture Design) at the French Design Awards. Aiming to combine art, culture, and the concept of environmental sustainability together, the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Headquarters built Taiwan’s first-ever large-scale, electricity-free luminescent sculpture “Luminous Cloud Isles and the Starman,” which has now won two top international Platinum Awards.

Established in 2019 and organized by the Farmani Group (headquartered in Paris), the French Design Awards aims to discover innovative design works from around the world and encourage their makers. It chooses evaluation criteria that emphasize international vision, multicultural inclusiveness, innovativeness, and functionality. The award trophy features the goddess MAIA, symbolizing abundant vitality. Meanwhile, the trophy design pays homage to the vitality of nature and combines the achievements of human wisdom, representing the union of human intellect and creativity to give birth to innovative, forward-thinking designs and styles.

Committed to becoming Taiwan’s greenest national scenic area, Dapeng Bay has been actively promoting environmental sustainability in its installation art, means of transportation, and events. The winning of another Platinum Award affirms the longstanding dedication of the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Headquarters and the private sector in their efforts to engage in sustainable activities.
