Octopus Bush

白水木
Octopus bush is commonly used as pavement and garden landscaping trees. Adaptable and strong, it is also used as wind-shielding coastal plants. The evergreen trees have grayish brown barks and thick egg-shaped leaves. Their tiny white flowers have the shape of a scorpion tail. Their fruits can travel a long way with tides. Octopus bush is almost always found near oceans. Hence it is commonly called “the tree of white waters” in Chinese.
