Indian Almond

欖仁
Indian almonds’ red leaves and green sprouts are very beautiful. Their buttresses are impressive, too. The trees’ fruits are flat and round. They look a little like olive seeds with their protruding side structures. That’s why the trees are called “olive seed trees” in Chinese. Indian almond fruits are hard and full of fabrics. This enables them to float with ocean tides to some place far away. The edible seeds are rich with oil. It is said that Indian almonds’ leaves can be used as liver medicine, but only when they are fallen and dried naturally. This remedy has not been verified by any scientific institute, however, so don’t jump at it.
