Mana Takes Viewers on a Journey, Discovering Local Hideaways and Culture and Unveiling the Rich Diversity of Taiwan’s Southernmost Region

15
The Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Headquarters invited famous YouTuber Mana to take an in-depth tour of Pingtung. Through her videos, she introduces viewers to the natural ecology, cultural heritage, and local cuisine of Taiwan’s southernmost region, showcasing the rich diversity of southern Pingtung tourism areas.

According to statistics compiled by the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Taiwan received more than 2 million visitors from January to April this year. Among the visitors, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong accounted for 16%, 13.65%, and 13.17%, respectively, indicating the Northeast Asian market’s continued, strong tourism interest in Taiwan. As travel trends shift toward more refined, in-depth, and niche experiences, Pingtung—known for its coastal and mountain scenery, historical culture, and distinctive cuisine—is particularly well-suited for immersive slow travel. Through Mana’s videos, international visitors are further encouraged to appreciate Pingtung’s natural conditions and social custom from new angles.

During her journeys, Mana visited the Cu-nuq Farm, where she prepared Indigenous wild vegetable dish “star jelly”; rode a riverside yacht to enjoy Hengchun’s blue skies, turquoise seas, and water views; and explored the intertidal zone of Wanlitong to observe its rich ecological wonders. This year also marks the 150th anniversary of the construction of Hengchun Old Town. To commemorate the occasion, she walked through the historic town to discover the cultural legacy of Taiwan’s only set of completely preserved city gates.
