The Pingtung stage of the 2022 International Tour de Taiwan starts on the morning of the 6th. In the past, the route has gone around the Hengchun Peninsula. This year, due to the "Planting Trees for a Hundred Miles along Ping-E Freeway 2.0" project, it was changed to 12 laps of the road around Dapeng Bay for a total length of 144 km. More than 120 international cyclists from 26 countries will take part.
The organizer indicated that the 2022 Tour de Taiwan is registered as a top level 2.1 race by the Union Cyclists International (UCI), with participants from 26 countries (Belgium, Spain, Austria, France, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and China etc). A total of 15 intercontinental teams and more than 120 international cyclists will participate.
